(Negative one star more like!) I was never a customer here (and never will be) but I had a job interview here once and it was one of the worst I ever had. It seemed ok at first, but the interviewer clearly had no idea what they were doing (its called google, use it for 5 minutes and you'll see how to do an interview well!) The lady (I cant remember her name, nor do I care,) seemed friendly and ok at first, and we were making nice small talk (which is always a good way to start an interview), but then she asks me how old I am... It's illegal to ask that in an interview by the way... (yes I know my rights!) I didn't want to tell her my age and hesitated, but I think I gave her an age range. She then went on about how someone she knew was close to my age and had a better job than this and how I should be applying to government jobs and crap like this... Um, excuse YOU lady... my personal life and background is NONE of your damn business! My professional background is fair game, but only to anything that relates to the job! I was just shocked at how oblivious this lady was, that I couldn't say anything, and this was one of my first terrible interviews so I hadn't had enough experience to just walk out. She proceeded to ask me personal questions about my family and stuff that she had no business knowing... I'm surprised she didn't ask about my religion to, or about my ethnic background.... I just made a bunch of stuff up to spite her stupid questions. I guess I should have thrown in that my parents were slowly dying and I was the only family they had left to support them... and then begged with puppy dog eyes for the job.... I needed the job, I had the skills to do it, that's ALL her concern should have been...not asking me personal questions about my life and trying to "help me" get better jobs! If this lady treats prospective employees with such disrespect, how does she treat prospective customers?? And if she was this annoying and judgemental in the INTERVIEW, how would she be to work with? It's not my job to tell you my personal background and why PERSONALLY I need the job...its my JOB in the interview to tell you why I would be a good fit. I was so tempted to report this to the Ministry of Labour and have this lady deal with that! Just a little heads up that this business needs new management and to anyone thinking of working here, DON'T! Thanks for wasting my time to lady, whoever you are. I think more people who have bad interviews should speak up about it. Why should a business get away with it? I'm JUST as important as a customer! I'd loooove to see how they respond to this, probably will have no idea! Haha! They probably think they did nothing wrong, but I was looking for a JOB! For a Livelihood! I wasn't looking to discuss my personal and family life and about my life choices, or why/why not I haven't gotten a better job yet! I was there for a JOB! I got a good Job now but I had to go through a lot of bad interviews before I found something good! Its not easy and this experience just made things WORSE and took away time and energy I could have used connecting with a PROFESSIONAL workplace. To this lady, shes just trying to find someone she likes "personally," or thinks "is personally fit" for the job... whereas I'm looking for a way to support myself. I don't think she realises or CARES about how behaviour like this impacts people. And again, if you cant spend 5 minutes googling professional interview questions and techniques, how the HELL are you running or managing a business?? Take some pride in what you do, especially when you represent a business... Oh and don't think about trying to find out who I was "this isnt my real name." Best of luck in your (un)professional career...
